Young Thug Wants To Help African Residents Trying To Escape Ukraine Amid Discrimination Accusations

Days after various videos surfaced online purporting to show Ukrainian authorities discriminating against African people fleeing the country as the country's continuing conflict with Russia deepens, assistance for those individuals may soon come from an unexpected source: Young Thug. Thug posted on his Instagram Story offering his support and encouraging his "rap brothers" to do the same.

"If some of my rap brothers are in," he added, "I'm happy to help Africans get out of Ukraine." "However, I have a feeling they're not going to let us pass." Whoever has the information for these movements, please notify me as soon as possible; I'm ready." It didn't take long for him to secure pledges from music mogul Kevin Liles, private jet dealer Kelvin Mensah, and others.

Thugger is establishing a habit of putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to assisting others less fortunate than himself. In 2017, he donated to Planned Parenthood in response to Donald Trump's threats to defund the organization, and in 2021, he and his artist Gunna paid bail for 30 Fulton County Jail inmates and held a dinner for their families, with intentions to continue doing so in the future. He's gotten even more hands-on recently, opening off the new year by assisting a stranded motorist in jumpstarting his automobile. Thugger is a people's man.
Young Thug is a Warner Music recording artist. Uproxx is a wholly owned subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
