QATAR, DOHA – From June 5, 2022, Qatar Airways will restart flights to London Gatwick Airport. The multi-award-winning airline will fly from Gatwick to Doha every day, utilizing a cutting-edge Boeing 787 Dreamliner with 22 Business Class seats and 232 Economy Class seats. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a cutting-edge airplane in terms of environmental protection. It uses 20% less fuel and emits 20% less carbon dioxide than other similar aircraft.
Passengers may now connect to approximately 150 destinations across the airline's large global network via the Hamad International Airport, including popular destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australasia, thanks to the launch of daily flights to London Gatwick.
The resumption of the London Gatwick service complements recently launched flights to Doha from Gatwick by Qatar Airways’ Joint Business partner British Airways, meaning the airlines can now jointly offer more options between London and Doha and beyond, earning Avios frequent flyer points as they go.
UK customers will now have access to four gateways including five-times daily services from London Heathrow, 18-times weekly from Manchester and four-times weekly from Edinburgh rising to daily from 2 June.
"Our commitment to the UK market has been unshakable, and we operated regularly and dependably during the epidemic, so I am glad we can resume our popular service to London Gatwick," stated Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker. We provide outstanding connectivity to and from the United Kingdom, giving passengers more options and convenience.
"This year is particularly significant for us, as it marks the 25th anniversary of our flights to London Heathrow, which began in March 1997."
Qatar Airways, a multiple award-winning airline, was named 'Airline of the Year' at the 2021 World Airline Awards, organized by Skytrax, an international air transport rating organization. It was also voted 'Best Airline in the Middle East,' 'World's Best Business Class Airline Lounge,' 'World's Best Business Class Airline Seat,' 'World's Best Business Class Onboard Catering,' and 'World's Best Business Class Onboard Catering.'
