Oyo begins computerised vehicle inspection system to reduce road carnage

The Oyo State government has unveiled a newly-computerised vehicle inspection system to put a check on the number of accidents on the roads.

The state’s Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin, who disclosed this in his office while addressing journalists in Ibadan, described the system as a new innovation different from the old means of vehicle inspection.

He added that the new system was the right step in the right direction as everything in the world is currently digitised.

According to him, the new method would entail full inspection of all mechanical, electrical and structural faults in the vehicle for immediate repair.

Dahud said the system would enable car owners to know the status of their vehicles before plying the road.

In his comment, Director of Vehicle Inspection Services, James Adegbemijo Ajayi, described the process as a laudable one to ensure that all vehicles plying the roads are roadworthy.
