FRANKLIN DAVID: “I am Excited And Honored For The Opportunity To Join A Legacy African Entertainment

CHOCOLATE CITY APPOINTS FRANKLIN "TWIZZ" DAVID AS PRESIDENT OF BRAND, CONTENT, AND PARTNERSHIPS IN NORTH AMERICA.

Afrobeats legend Fela's son Femi Kuti (a four-time Grammy nominee), hip-hop musician and record producer M.I. Abaga, Dice Ailes, Nosa, ClassiQ, Ruby Gyang, and acts like Blaqbonez, C Kay, and Street Billionaires are all residents of Chocolate City.
In addition, artists like Brymo, Ice Prince, and Jesse Jagz are in the repertoire of Chocolate City.
2019 saw a collaboration between Warner Music Group and Chocolate City. When the deal was announced, WMG stated that it would "dramatically expand the reach of African musicians around the world and would open new doors for global superstars in the region."
The action is a part of the record label's initiatives to increase its visibility in North Africa and expose its back catalog to a wider audience.

Audu Maikori and Paul Okeugo formed Chocolate City, a 360-degree media and entertainment company that offers management, licensing, and consultancy services for the music industry. The business has offices not just in the UK, US, South Africa, and Ghana but also in Lagos, Abuja, and Nairobi.

David is responsible for enhancing the company's brand, managing marketing initiatives, and establishing strategic brand alliances in the region.

David has held jobs in radio promotion, sync licensing, brand alliances, sports marketing, original content, and international marketing during the course of his career.

David most recently served as the head of talent management for Unanimous Games, a New York-based Esports and gaming firm.

The executive, who has more than 20 years of expertise in the entertainment business, got his start by managing the careers of artists like DJ Clue and working on projects for artists like Fabolous and Mariah Carey. 

David has also worked with athletes in the sports sector, including NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, Baron Davis, Joakim Noah, and Pascal Siakim, as well as NFL players Dwight Freeney, Pierre Garcon, and Amobi Okoye.

Abuchi Ugwu, recently appointed CEO of Chocolate City, added: “Having Twizz onboard is really exciting for us as we seek to expand our base in North America and export our culture to the world".
