WhatsApp will stop working on several devices from April 2025

Starting in 2025, a seismic shift will resonate through the world of messaging as WhatsApp bids farewell to a host of older Android and iPhone models. This bold decision is driven by a commitment to elevate the app’s performance and security, channeling efforts towards devices capable of embracing cutting-edge features. WhatsApp, a titan under the Meta banner, routinely reassesses the landscape of devices and operating systems it supports. With the relentless march of technology, it becomes evident that older devices are increasingly ill-equipped to handle the demands of modern features and essential security updates. Clinging to these relics of the past could not only compromise the user experience but also leave data vulnerable in this age of digital threats. By phasing out support for these outdated devices, WhatsApp is declaring a resolute focus on streamlining the app’s functionality for current hardware and software. The goal? A more robust and efficient experience that places user security at the forefront. From January 1, 2025: The end of the line for Android devices clinging to Android 4.4 (KitKat) or earlier. May 5, 2025:. A final goodbye to iPhones shackled by iOS 15.1 or earlier.
