“The TAG Heuer Formula 1 X Mario Kart Limited Editions expertly mix fun gaming references that will delight fans of Mario Kart around the world, with refined and high performing timekeeping,” says Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. “The spirit of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection was the perfect match for mechanical Mario Kart limited editions, thanks to its modern and playful personality, driven by speed and friendly competition.” The TAG Heuer Formula 1 X Mario Kart Limited Edition Chronograph is powered by an automatic Calibre 16 chronograph movement housed in a satin-brushed 44mm stainless steel case. The Mario Kart logo features on the polished black ceramic tachymeter bezel, while Mario’s M symbol is engraved on the crown and filled with red lacquer. Mario himself appears at the wheel of his kart on the small seconds, one of three asphalt-textured sub dials on the watch’s chequered dial.

While the watch features a date window at the three o’clock position it doesn’t display the date, instead revealing a different power-up each day such as Bullet Bill and the Banana. Limited to just 250 pieces, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 X Mario Kart Limited Edition Chronograph Tourbillon adopts a slightly larger 45mm case in grade 5 titanium with steel crown and pushers, while a sapphire crystal caseback reveals the COSC-certified Calibre Heuer 02T movement with red column wheel and custom winding rotor featuring the silhouettes of Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach.

The piece’s black and red open-worked dial reveals the watch’s 60-second tourbillon at the six o’clock, the rotating cage of which offers a stage for Mario, Spiny Shell and Bullet Bill. Both watches are presented on black leather straps with contrasting red stitching and lining with a custom embossed pattern. The Formula 1 X Mario Kart Limited Editions are out now via TAG Heuer, priced $4,300 USD and $25,600 USD.
