Senegal is preparing to open a 50,000-seat national stadium

Senegal is preparing to open its magnificent new stadium, which is the first to be certified by FIFA. Several heads of state are expected to attend the stadium's inauguration, which will be named after Senegal's former president, Abdoulaye Wade.

The multi-purpose stadium will be added to the likes of Leopard Sengor Stadium, which is now being renovated.

"This stadium fills a void in the international infrastructure. Because the Léopold Sédar Senghor stadium is being restored, Senegal has been unable to host large sporting events "Galo Bâ, the General Manager of the Diamniadio urban pole's public infrastructure management firm, stated.

"The match between Senegal and Egypt (World Cup playoffs) is planned for March. Senegal can host a variety of international tournaments, the first of which will most likely be a match between Senegal and Egypt "Galo Bâ, the General Manager of the Diamniadio urban pole's public infrastructure management firm, stated.

Among the guests of honor will be Rwandan President Juvénal Habyarimana and other regional leaders.
