REPORT: ‘EXTRAORDINARY’ ARSENAL PLAYER COULD NOW LEAVE IN PRE-CONTRACT AGREEMENT

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is now wanted by German side Borussia Monchengladbach ahead of the January transfer window.

That’s according to The Sunday Mirror (07/11, p72), who claim that Gladbach are looking to strike a bargain deal.

Nketiah is out of contract at the end of the season and Gladbach want to offer him a pre-contract agreement in January.

That would see Nketiah walk away from Arsenal in the summer, but would open up the possibility of an immediate cut-price move.

Nketiah is thought to be frustrated by his lack of involvement with Arsenal this season.

The 22-year-old hadn’t even been on the bench for a Premier League game this season before Sunday’s 1-0 win over Watford.

Nketiah has long been backed to become a star at Arsenal, but it just isn’t happening.

Last summer, Mikel Arteta branded Nketiah ‘extraordinary’, suggesting that the Gunners had big plans for him.

That just hasn’t been the case this season, with Nketiah yet to play a single minute of Premier League action.

English talents like Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham have thrived in Germany, and Gladbach can offer the same opportunity.

Nketiah may fancy staying in England, but if he can be promised a starring role at Gladbach, he should absolutely consider it.
