‘Mr. Malcolm’s List’ Trailer

Bleecker Street today unveiled the trailer for its Regency-era rom-com, Mr. Malcolm’s List, starring Zawe Ashton (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Gangs of London), which is slated for release in theaters in July 1st.

The film written by Suzanne Allain is based on her novel of the same name. It’s a Regency-era rom-com centered on Julia Thistlewaite (Ashton), who is jilted by London’s most eligible bachelor, Mr. Malcolm (Dìrísù), when she fails to meet an item on his list of requirements for a bride. Feeling humiliated and determined to exact revenge, she convinces her friend Selina Dalton (Hillbilly Elegy‘s Freida Pinto) to play the role of his ideal match. Soon, Mr. Malcolm wonders whether he’s found the perfect woman…or the perfect hoax.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Invisible Man), Ashley Park (Girls5eva) and Theo James (The Time Traveler’s Wife) also star in the film from director Emma Holly Jones.
