MONCLER’S NEXT COLLABORATOR IS SIR JONY IVE

Following a year of multiple collaborations both stemming from Moncler's Genius line as well as the label's other ventures, CEO and Chairman Remo Ruffini has confirmed that the label's next partnership is an unexpected one: Sir Jony Ive.

For those unfamiliar, Ive was Apple's chief design officer for almost 30 years before departing to launch his own design venture, LoveFrom. Working across devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod, Ive has had a big impact on the product design that we see today.

Revealed at the Re:Wired event Q&A, Sir Jony Ive revealed that together with LoveFrom, he's working alongside Moncler on a product. Sadly, no more information was shared but following the announcement, Remo Ruffini also confirmed the collaboration on Instagram by sharing a snippet from a WWD article detailing the partnership.

It looks like the collaboration will be rooted in sustainability, a topic that is key to Moncler's vision as well as LoveFrom's work. The creative collective has been working with Prince Charles across various sustainability efforts, including revealing the Terra Carta Seal at COP26 in Scotland last week.

Earlier this year, Ive signed a deal with Ferrari alongside LoveFrom co-founder and former Apple employee Marc Newson, which most likely surrounds electric vehicles and advancements in this sector.

As for Moncler, the label has been transparent with its internal and external sustainability efforts, publishing an annual report, as well as aiming for 80% of nylon fabric scraps to be recycled by 2023, and by 2025, Moncler aims for 50% of sustainable nylon to be used. One of its goals was also to become carbon neutral by the end of 2021 and use 100% renewable energy by 2023.

So far both Moncler's Remo Ruffini and Jony Ive have remained tight-lipped, so it remains to be seen when we will find out more about the exciting collaboration.
