Mamadou Loum, a midfielder for Portuguese Champions FC Porto, has been loaned to Reading for the entire season.
After spending the previous season on loan at Alaves in Spain, Loum joins the Royals.
The 25-year-old Senegal international was a member of the team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in February.

Paul Ince, the manager of Reading, said, "He was a player that many clubs sought, so for Mamadou to chose to join us is a huge lift for everyone at the club.
Despite Alaves' relegation from La Liga, Loum played 32 times and scored twice for the team. He now hopes to be selected for Senegal's World Cup team in Qatar in November.
He is Reading's ninth signing ahead of the new season, which begins for them with a trip to Blackpool on Saturday.
