IWC Calls in Reinforcements With Four New TOP GUN Models

With the long-awaited Top Gun sequel finally making it to screens this year, IWC is going big on its association with the US Navy’s elite fighter pilot school with four new watches falling under the Top Gun banner.

The new pieces include time-only and chronograph pieces in IWC’s proprietary blend of ceramic and titanium, Ceretanium, and new colored ceramic shades – which have been given official Pantone references to help color-match the various components.

TOP GUN Edition “Lake Tahoe”
The ceramic chronograph features a 44.5mm case in a shade of white reflecting the winter landscapes of Lake Tahoe, near the TOP GUN training school in Nevada. IWC has paired the case with a high contrast white-on-black dial with polished stainless steel pushers and crown.

TOP GUN Edition “Woodland”
This chronograph takes the dark green shade of its ceramic case and dial from naval aviator flight suits and pairs it with matte black Ceretanium caseback, pushers and crown.

TOP GUN Edition Ceretanium
This 41mm chronograph features a case, crown and pushers made of light and scratch resistant ceramic/titanium alloy, Ceretanium, which presents a dark grey shade with a slight sheen. A black dial feature printed Arabic numeral hour markers color-matched to the case.

TOP GUN Edition “Jet Black”
While a black ceramic Big Pilot’s watch has been part of IWC’s collection since 2012, it is now offered with a 43mm case for the first time. The time-only watch features an over-sized crown and titanium caseback, with high contrast white-on-black dial.

The watches are out now, via IWC, with the chronographs starting at $10,700 USD.
