Global Esports Federation reveals titles for Commonwealth Esports Championships

From August 6th to 7th, players from all over the Commonwealth will fight for medals in their various titles at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham. There will be a Women's Category and an Open Category in each of the three titles.

"Alongside the GEF, we are happy to unveil three significant titles for the Commonwealth Esports Championships in Birmingham this summer," said Katie Sadleir, CEO of the Commonwealth Games Federation. There's no doubt that this creative and fascinating event will provide us with new insights and opportunity to learn more about esports.

In addition to the event, the Commonwealth Esports Forum will be held on August 5th at the same location. The CEC will operate independently of the Commonwealth Games, which will take place in the summer.

"Esports has connected millions of young people across the Commonwealth, giving enjoyment and an essential feeling of community," said Commonwealth Games Minister Nigel Huddleston.

"The Commonwealth Esports Championships are a significant vote of confidence in the growing esports business in the West Midlands and the United Kingdom, as well as an exciting opportunity to examine how it may be integrated into the Commonwealth Sport Movement.
