Girls From Nigeria Lose To Cameroon And Egypt While Moroccan Boys Maintain Hope.

The U-19 girls' volleyball team from Nigeria yesterday suffered a further loss at the ongoing African Nations Volleyball Championship, falling to Egypt for the second time in a row.

Nigeria was defeated by Egypt 22-25, 14-25, and 22-25. This defeat follows their earlier defeat against Cameroun on Friday evening, which team won 3-1 in the tournament opener.

Only the first set of the match, which was contested at Abuja's Moshood Abiola National Stadium, was won by the girls, 29–27. The Cameroonian team displayed their superiority in the subsequent matches, preventing them from winning them.

They suffered defeats in the second set (20-25), third set (14-55), and fourth set (20-25).

The captain of Cameroon stated after the game that they were in Abuja to defend their championship.
"We are pleased with our victory over Nigeria. The result of the game demonstrated how well-prepared we were for the championship.

"We will play as instructed by our coaches in our upcoming match against Egypt, which will also result in a victory. We'll take the prize home with us, she assured.

The nations competing in the 2022 U-19 Africa Girls Nations Championship are Nigeria, Cameroun, and Egypt. Tomorrow, September 6, the event will come to an end. It began on Thursday with a technical discussion with officials.

The boys' team at the ongoing competition being held in Morocco, where the girls have lost their first two games, gave the nation cause for celebration when they overcame Cameroun 3-1 (26-24, 25-27, 25-15, 25-22) in their second game.

To advance to the tournament's quarterfinals, Nigeria must win their final group stage encounter against Tunisia.
