Originally set to release May 25 at 9 a.m. EDT, we now have a full look at the YEEZY GAP ENGINEERED BY BALENCIAGA Collection 2. YEEZY Gap recently updated its website with the message, “IN LIGHT OF THE TRAGEDY IN UVALDE, TEXAS, WE ARE POSTPONING THE YEEZY GAP ENGINEERED BY BALENCIAGA LAUNCH UNTIL FRIDAY, MAY 27 AT 6AM PST / 9AM EST. AS WE PAUSE, OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO THE FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES IMPACTED.”
Marked as a collaborative effort between Kanye West and Demna Gvasalia, the upcoming range builds on the debut collection released in February with an understated yet subversive aesthetic sensibility. Comprised of outerwear, tops, T-shirts, pants, hats and accessories, the YEEZY GAP ENGINEERED BY BALENCIAGA Collection 2 is expected to be expansive and help flesh out the themes of the highly-anticipated collaboration.
Leading the release are overdyed “GAP” hoodies and T-shirts that introduce the main black color tone featured throughout the collection. Other standouts include tight-fitting technical tops, sweatpants and select padded and distressed denim styles. Rounding up the selection is a flame detailed cap sported by Ye recently and a range of both utilitarian and avant-garde footwear styles.
