Fly-in Safari Adventure

What’s bush flying in Africa like? Join me on a fly-in safari to Masai Mara and Serengeti National Park in Kenya and Tanzania. Which country has the best fly-in safari experience? I boarded a Dash-7 of AirKenya Express from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Keekorok in Masai Mara National Park. The short takeoff and landing aircraft was built in 1982 and will be retiring shortly. I filmed the takeoff from the cockpit. On approach, the pilot was alerted of many animals near the runway. I spotted countless wildebeests during the landing. It was an incredible sight as a fly-in safari. Next in Tanzania, I flew on Auric Air Pilatus PC-12 from Dar Es Salaam to Kagotende in Serengeti National Park. I was sitting in the right pilot seat to fly. Captain Navid introduced me to the Pilatus and I could “feel” the aircraft during the flight. We landed on a dirt strip in Serengeti National Park. I saw the incredible animal migration afterward. - Sam Chui
