Drew Binsky - Transnistria

I finally visited an unrecognized country that has been high on my list for quite some time -- Transnistria! It's legitimately the closest thing you can get to the Soviet Union, where Lenin statues stand tall, Soviet-era symbols are everywhere, and people use their own currency that no one else accepts. Despite not being officially recognized by any UN country, Transnistria operates as its own little nation with borders, government, and military. In this video, my wife and I (and her mother) take you inside this fascinating time capsule, meeting locals, exploring its quirks, and uncovering what life is like in a place that "technically" doesn’t exist.
