Arsenal transfer round-up: Dani Ceballos linked with return as Declan Rice demand made

Arsenal are set to continue their rebuild under Mikel Arteta in the January transfer window and the Gunners have been linked with moves for multiple midfielders already

November is here and the cobwebs are being dusted off the transfer rumour mill.

One of the most-talked about clubs in the summer window was Arsenal, who splashed out a whopping £150million on six signings.

With all of them established under manager Mikel Arteta, technical Edu is busy adding more bricks to the rebuild as the Gunners bid to break back into European football.

Arsenal are said to be keen on adding midfield reinforcements, with one of their former players potentially a candidate.

And speaking of old Gunners employers, one of the club's ex-managers could be about to make a return to the Premier League.

Here, Mirror Football looks at the latest trasnfer news gossip from the Emirates.

According to El Nacional, via football.london, Arsenal could reignite their interest in former loanee Dani Ceballos.

The 25-year-old spent two seasons at the Emirates but struggled for consistency.

And now Ceballos is back at Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti, but an injury has seen him miss the entirety of the season so far.

Real Betis are also named as one of the frontrunners for the Spaniard's services, with the Gunners reportedly keen on supplementing the midfield in the January transfer window to help cover for injuries and those partaking in the African Cup of Nations.

It seems like every club would take England star Declan Rice right now and celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan says the Emirates chiefs "should sign" the West Ham United captain.

Morgan tweeted as much after the Irons' latest win at Aston Villa, with Rice providing a goal and assist to help David Moyes' men cement their fourth-place position in the Premier League.

Rice is a key player for West Ham and England
The 22-year-old's skillset would be highly beneficial for Arteta's side, who lack a deep-lying playmaker to partner Thomas Partey when Granit Xhaka is injured.

However, his £100milion-plus price tag could scupper Edu and co's hopes.

Emery tipped for Toon

The Spanish tactician currently manages Villarreal, whom the Magpies would reportedly be keen on paying a compensation fee to, according to German outlet Sport1.

Emery was sacked by the Gunners in December 2019 after 18 months in the job, replacing legendary boss Arsene Wenger.

Having won the Europa League with the Yellow Submarine in May, the 49-year-old has claimed a winners' medal for the competition four times in his managerial career, a tournament which Newcastle will keen to compete in following their Saudi Arabian-backed takeover.
