Warner Bros. celebrated Mother’s Day with an emotional teaser for The maternally-centered upcoming DC film, The Flash. In the 30-second promotional video, the clip focuses on Barry Allen’s relationship with his mother, Nora Allen. Barry, who is played by Ezra Miller, is seen grappling with Nora’s death from when he was a child. Barry later has an ill-fated attempt to bring her back as the teaser cuts to Nora telling a young Barry, “I love you, monkey” and Barry replying, “I love you more.” Nora then adds to the emotions of the scene with a simple, “I loved you first.” The film follows a much more grown and still-distraught Barry who travels back in time to try to prevent Nora’s death. In his time travel attempt, he drastically alters reality, leading to a change in history that leads to the current dystopia that sees a Kryptonian incursion. Realizing that he must fix the hellish alternate reality he created, he enlists the help of Batman, played by Michael Keaton. Much of The Flash plot is based on DC’s 2011 Flashpoint storyline by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert. The same storyline was also loosely adapted in the Arrowverse series The Flash on CW. The Flash starring Miller and Keaton hits theaters this summer on June 16.
