Ruth Langmore's epic vengeance binge will begin this spring.
The second installment of Ozark's seven-episode fourth and final season will be aired on Netflix on April 29, almost three months after Part 1 was released. (A teaser for the final batch of episodes is seen above.)
Part 2 will begin up where Part 1 left off, with Julia Garner's Ruth on the run after the terrible death of her cousin Wyatt, as showrunner Chris Mundy just confirmed to TVLine. "We pick up right away," said the EP. "We'd be betraying everyone if we skipped ahead through the emotional state we were in [at the end of Episode 7]."
The Season 4 finale foreshadowed a flash-forward automobile wreck involving the Byrde family, which will be resolved in the final episodes. The vagueness surrounding the exact timing of the event, as Mundy revealed in January, was purposeful.
"There's always a sense on our program that anything may happen at any time, and I appreciate that unease," he explained. "We thought folks [viewing the Season 4 premiere] might be perplexed for a single second, but when the [scene switches instantly] to Mexico, they'd know [it was a flash-forward]." But we didn't want to make any more calculations for them."
