'Old' Actor Aaron Pierre Joins Mahershala Ali in Marvel's 'Blade' Reboot

According to rumours, British actor Aaron Pierre will now make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut opposite Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali in the upcoming Blade revival.

M. Night Shyamalan's Old, Amazon Prime's The Underground Railroad, and SyFy's Superman prequel Krypton are among Pierre's prior works. He'll also be providing Mufasa's voice in Barry Jenkins' upcoming Lion King prequel. For the time being, details about his character in Blade have been kept under wraps, and Marvel Studios has yet to announce his official hiring, but Deadline reports that "the job itself was one of the more highly desired parts in Hollywood."

With Ali on board as the titular vampire hunter, the Blade reboot will now be directed by Bassam Tariq, with Delroy Lindo on the cast, Stacey Osei-Kuffour on the script, and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige as producer. Unfortunately, no release date has been set for Blade, but insiders believe it will be one of three Marvel films to be released in 2023, alongside Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
