Netflix has released the first look at its upcoming documentary series with BBC Studios titled Our Universe. Narrating the six-part series is Morgan Freeman, who offers epic commentary on the connections that drive our natural world — “from the birth of the Sun to the birth of a sea turtle.” While many may think of Sir David Attenborough when it comes to nature documentaries, Freeman has narrated several documentary series and films in the past including Cosmic Voyage and March of the Penguins.
“In the lives of every creature on Earth are echoes of events that occurred a long, long time ago. Events of unimaginable scale and violent beauty that connect all living things” says Freeman in the official trailer.
The documentary series looks to “blend stunning wildlife footage with eye-popping cosmic special effects” to dramatize the forces that created our solar system while also bringing us intimate shots of some of the most charismatic animals which inhabit our planet. Having taken 13.8 billion years to reach this one precious moment in time and space, the series tells a distilled story of our universe.
Take a look at the Our Universe trailer above and expect the series to air via Netflix on November 22.
