Dwayne Johnson has officially confirmed his continued return to the Fast & Furious franchise. The actor took to his Twitter account to say that he is “one hundred percent confirming” his return and reprisal of the role of Luke Hobbs. In a long post, he thanked fans for their ongoing support of the franchise and for the excitement surrounding his cameo in Fast X.
CNN reported that he recently teased that fans can expect more between Hobbs and Jason Momoa‘s villainous character Dante. He said, “If you thought that ‘The Rock’ versus ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin headlining three WrestleManias was earth-shattering, well, wait until you see Dante and Hobbs collide.”
In the Tweet, Johnson gives audiences a glimpse of how Johnson and Vin Diesel‘s conversation played out stating that it “lead with brotherhood and resolve – and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love.” Johnson confirms that fans will see Hobbs in the next film, ” you’ll see the legendary lawman in will be the HOBBS movie that will serve as a fresh, new chapter & set up for FASTX: Part II.”
While it is uncertain what the next film will be, rumors indicate that another Hobbs film is in the making. Johnson first appeared as the chracter in the 2011 Fast Five and starred in five films in the franchise after. Take a look at his Tweet below.
