On Thursday, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) issued a statement demanding that the game be replayed. The FAF filed an appeal with FIFA FIFA for a match replay, citing "outrageous" officiating decisions by Gambian Bakary Gassama that "had affected the result" of the game.
The president of the Algerian Football Federation, on the other hand, stated that "the possibilities" of this bid succeeding were "poor," since he did not want to "sell illusions" to Algerian fans.
