• "We will take advantage of the numerous football opportunities"
Aisha Falode, the chairwoman of the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL), has stated that she decided to run for election into the executive committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) because she feels that the position will put her in a good position to carry out the changes required for the expansion of the NWFL.
Falode, who was chosen by the outgoing board to head the national women's football league, claimed that as an elected member, she would have the power to protect the league and drive away those who had attitudes that were harmful to the development of the sport.
Falode stated: "I want to have the power, the authority to air my thoughts, beliefs, and ideas as of right," while speaking in Lagos over the weekend. If it weren't for Amaju Pinnick, President of the NFF, I wouldn't have done as much for women's football.

"He stood by me even when others sought to silence me. However, Amaju won't be there anymore, so I prefer to enter without an appointment.
Falode claimed she chose the ballot for the election last week and that if she were elected, she would advocate for a professionally run football association.
"We are aware of numerous ways the NFF could be improved. The secretariat, regardless of what kind of federation it is, creates a football house, not the executive committee.
"We will work to establish a secretariat that is up to date and capable of advancing things. a constantly reachable secretariat that is conscious of its obligations.
Falode stated that she wants to build on the successes of the NWFL, and that being voted to the board will give her the freedom to look for alliances that will improve the game.
"The limitations imposed by the NFF have prevented us from reaching our potential.
"We had a Women's Football Strategy Summit scheduled, but we were informed that it was an NFF event. But it wasn't completed.
"We don't have a commercial department in our football federation... Only the marketing division is mentioned. In the secretariat, a lot of individuals shouldn't be around football.
"Football is a huge industry with a ton of options. I'll assist the federation in utilizing all of these chances to Nigeria's benefit once I join the board, she said.
