Due to release next year, the newest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise will be titled Fast X, Vin Diesel revealed in an Instagram post earlier today. The actor captioned the post, an image of the movie’s title logo, “day one…,” announcing the first day of the project’s production.
While specifics surrounding the film’s plot have been kept private, in addition to Diesel, the cast includes Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior and Brie Larson.
Earlier this month, Diesel welcomed Larson to the cast with an Instagram post of the two of them. “Clearly there is love and laughter in this image,” Diesel wrote in the caption., which features her hanging on his shoulder while laughing. “What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in Fast10. You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology.”
Justin Lin, who worked on The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast & Furious 6 (2013) and F9 (2021), will return to direct. Lin will also produce the project alongside Diesel.
Fast X is scheduled to hit theaters on May 19, 2023.
