In July 2020, in the wake of Geoge Floyd’s death, the chant heard around the world was ‘Black Lives Matter’. But this rallying cry didn’t come out of nowhere, it is the result of years of building momentum and concerted effort from activists like Alicia Garza, who co-founded the Black Lives Matter movement in 2013. Isobel learns about the roots of BLM, what drives Garza in her life-long pursuit of activism and organizing - and, importantly, what’s next for Garza as she fights for a more equitable world.
