Uzodimma congratulates Adamu, APC NWC on election, successful convention

Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma has congratulated Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu on his election as the new All Progressives Congress National Chairman (APC).

Uzodimma also thanked all members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) who were elected at the party's National Convention on Saturday for showing up.

A statement signed by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Mr Oguwike Nwachuku, and made accessible to newsmen in Owerri on Sunday contained this information.

While praising all APC members, particularly the delegates and observers from Imo who contributed greatly to the success of the party's convention, the governor urged newly elected leaders to see their election as a "call to serve the largest party in Africa."

The election of Adamu as our national chairman, together with his NWC members, comes at an opportune time for our great party's foundations to be put to the test.

"I am convinced that Adamu would bring his wealth of knowledge and inventive abilities to bear in the strengthening of our party for greater service to the nation as a real nationalist with unity and peace among his virtues.

I congratulate delegates/observers from Imo, as well as those from across the country, on their identification with a movement aimed at the development of our country.

"The calm and successful conduct of the exercise is a product of the party's growing unity and internal democracy," he said.
