Inside Olaolu Slawn's New Beau Beaus Cafe in East London

Self-proclaimed “scam” artist, Olaolu Slawn, has just announced the latest move of his industrious career with the unveiling of his brand-new and family-run cafe in East London. Known for his larger-than-life canvases hit with energetic pop figures, bold colors, and enticing shapes, Slawn’s artwork has traveled far and wide, first from his home of Lagos to his current place of residency in London. Since Slawn moved to London five years ago, he’s quickly established himself as one of the UK’s most popular creatives, working closely with the likes of Clint419 on Corteiz’s viral collection campaigns, while also co-signing a slew of UK-based streetwear brands such as Hillside, Peachy Den, and Places+Faces.

Meanwhile, Slawn’s impressive artwork has also granted the creative the opportunity to design the most recent BRIT Award trophy, merging his graffiti-style artwork and reflecting his humble Lagos roots across the sleek bronze sculpture. Slawn’s new cafe looks to encapsulate all of his interests in fashion, artwork, and music, becoming a place for visitors to relax and be their unapologetic selves. Taking to Instagram, Slawn said: “Welcome to Beau Beaus Cafe, our family-run cafe opening soon. For all you bastards to enjoy and fully be your bastard selves. Nice way to celebrate my fifth year in LUNDUN, amen.”
