Since April 2023, as many as 150,000 people have been killed in the Sudan's ongoing civil war, and some 10 million have been forced from their homes, according to the United Nations—making it the largest displacement crisis in the world. With no end to fighting in sight, Sudan is teetering on the edge of a famine that could kill hundreds of thousands, and it is facing a potential genocide that international aid agencies say may already be happening.
