Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 Images: Steve & Nancy Have Escaped Vecna

Netflix has shared the first-look images from Stranger Things season 4 volume II and they confirm that Steve and Nancy will escape Vecna.

New images from Stranger Things season 4 part 2 reveal Steve and Nancy escaped Vecna in the Upside Down. After an excessively long delay caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the first seven episodes of Stranger Things season 4 bowed on Netflix in late May. Hailed as the most terrifying and action-packed season thus far, the new episodes were largely well-received as they charted darker territory, and unraveled deeper into Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) past. Stranger Things season 4, part 2, which contains the final two episodes, is scheduled to release on July 1, 2o22.

Exceeding viewers' expectations, the first part of Stranger Things season 4 really pushed the boundaries of its TV-14 rating as it introduced its new big bad, Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower. Vecna is inarguably the biggest threat Eleven and the gang have faced so far, as the fearsome sentient creature feeds on the traumas and guilt of the teenagers. In volume 1, Vecna possesses Max (Sadie Sink), but she manages to escape his clutches after her friends play her favorite song "Running Up That Hill." In the climax of season 4, however, Vecna develops a psychic connection with Nancy (Natalia Dyer), putting her into a trance. Steve remained in the Upside Down to try to save Nancy from Vecna. The fates of both characters were left up in the air.

Now, Netflix has released a bunch of photos from Stranger Things season 4's final two episodes. The biggest takeaway is Nancy and Steve seem to escape the Upside Down, as they're seen with the rest of their group plotting their next move. The new gallery essentially acts as a roll call for Stranger Things season 4's various plot threads, with images showcasing all of the lingering storylines and the characters they involve. Described as "a mad symphony of chaos" by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things season 4, part 2 will unfold some hard-hitting drama and spectacular action sequences. While Steve may have escaped from the Upside Down, it doesn't necessarily mean that his odds of making it out of season 4 alive are great. The Duffer Brothers have previously hinted that the impact of Steve's encounter with the Demobats will play into the final two episodes of season 4, so it's justified to be concerned about the character. In fact, the showrunners have teased that heading into Stranger Things season 4, part 2, all the characters are in danger. So in the coming episodes, almost any major player can end up having the same fate as Chrissy (Grace Van Dien), Fred (Logan Riley Brune), and Patrick (Myles Truitt).

Stranger Things season 4 is headed to deliver an epic conclusion with its upcoming volume II, no holds barred. Of course, with Eleven getting her powers back, she does have a fighting chance in battle against Vecna. But considering how deeply mature, poignant, and unsparing this season has been, it's unlikely that entire central cast will make it out unscathed. The Duffer Brothers have already asserted that Stranger Things season 4 won't end happily. An argument can be made Stranger Things is overdue for a major character death, so it will be interesting to see how the battle against Vecna unfolds
