Sean Penn is in Ukraine producing a documentary about the crisis with Russia, which erupted overnight Wednesday when Russia launched a full-fledged invasion.
Penn is now filming a documentary for Vice and met with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky this week. Penn also attended a government news meeting today, according to the Daily Mail, as the country rallied against the attack.

Zelensky earlier shared a video of the two together on Instagram. "The more people know about the war in Ukraine, the more likely it is that Russia will be stopped!" Zelensky stated in the description.
Penn, according to the Daily Mail, travelled to Kyiv, Ukraine's capital city, earlier this week. He earlier visited Ukraine in November, where he spoke with military units near the front lines with Russia-backed separatists in Donetsk, one of two territories proclaimed as independent by Russian President Vladimir Putin last week, announcing the deployment of a peacekeeping mission to safeguard them.

Russia began a full-scale invasion on Ukraine's northern, eastern, and southern borders overnight, and has taken control of the main airport in Kyiv after conducting missile attacks.
