Olivia Rodrigo Takes Fans Behind the Scenes of 'Sour' in Disney Plus Movie

Olivia Rodrigo is a young Hollywood powerhouse.

In her next Disney Plus film "Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film)," Olivia Rodrigo will flaunt her driver's license as she takes fans on a road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles, where she began writing her debut album.

Rodrigo will reveal the story behind "Sour" along the road, as well as explore what it's like to be a teenage girl negotiating pop success. The video, which features behind-the-scenes footage from the recording studio and beyond, will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus on March 25.

Eleven songs from the triple-platinum album will be presented with new arrangements in creative ways in the film,  from Roy’s Motel & Café to Red Rock Canyon State Park. Special guests Jacob Collier, Blu DeTiger and Towa Bird will also make appearances.

In a statement, Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, said, "This is a unique film experience where for the first time fans will understand how her album came to be and why it was such a personal journey for Olivia." "This isn't a concert film in the traditional sense, but rather an opportunity to see Olivia Rodrigo play the songs from 'Sour' like you've never seen her before."
In December, Rodrigo, who was named Variety's Hitmakers Songwriter of the Year, talked about her brutally honest lyrics.

"Whenever I'm in the midst of whatever emotion I'm feeling, I always compose songs," the 18-year-old told Variety. "It's like therapy for me."

From  Disney Branded Television, “Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U” is directed by Stacey Lee and produced by Interscope Films and Supper Club.
