Taylor Hill’s ASMR Makeup Routine

InStyle recently presented Taylor Hill’s detailed makeup routine, where the model shared a philosophy centered on enhancing natural beauty rather than masking it. This approach stemmed from her mother, a beautician, who was "so strict" about makeup, insisting that cosmetics should "highlight what their natural beauties are" and not make young girls feel like they "had to wear makeup to feel beautiful". Hill's first experience wearing significant makeup came at age 14 when she started modeling, which was "so much fun" because artists transformed her in a way her mother approved of, noting, "she still looks like herself".

Hill’s routine, which she shared while emptying her makeup bag from Oola Johnson, starts with skin prep using a voluminous hyaluronic serum spray from Iris and Romeo. Her favorite product is the Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint from Charlotte Tilbury, which she loves because it makes her skin "really shiny" and doesn't "look or feel like foundation". Hill uses a brush to control the coverage, which can be sheer or "a little bit more full coverage". To control excess shine, she strategically powders later using Makeup Forever HD Skin Perfecting Pressed Powder in Translucent, preferring this type because there is "just a little less pressure with it".

Next, Hill applies Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, using a little in the front center to conceal and a little on the corner to "lift and brighten that area". She keeps the amount minimal because she likes everything to feel "really natural and feel like my skin". For contour and blush, she uses the Makeup Forever HD Face Essentials palette’s cream bronzer, focusing on the top sides and corners of her face. This is followed by a cream blush—Danessa Myrix Beauty's Yummy Skin in Spice Latte—applied just above her cheekbone, a precise placement necessary given her "very small head and not a lot of real estate".

The model attributes many of her techniques to her time modeling for Victoria's Secret, noting that the brand "taught me a lot like so much actually". She cites Charlotte Tilbury, who often did makeup backstage at the show, as the ultimate inspiration for the "glowy beautiful you know dewy natural goddess style makeup" she favors.

Her eye routine starts with curling her eyelashes, an essential step she makes safer by suggesting the trick of heating the curler with a hairdryer, a technique she saw her favorite makeup artist, Bulvia, use. For shadow, she uses the Natasha Denona Mini Eyes Sculpt palette and the Desert Clean palette from Lisa Eldridge Beauty. Hill prefers using her finger to tap the shiniest shadow into the center of the lid, noting this helps diffuse the shimmer. She incorporates a technique called tight lining using a red eyeliner pencil from Hung Vanngo Beauty, putting it on the inside of the eye to add "so much depth". After curling her lashes, she uses a volume mascara from Burberry, focusing on "spreading the eyelash apart" to add width, not length, and using a "big, hard blink" to set it. She avoids applying mascara to her lower lashes because they are so long, they would transfer to her cheek due to her lack of "real estate".

The final steps involve defining her lips with a soft brown liner (Follow Exactly from Hung Vanngo Beauty), slightly overlining the cupid’s bow, and blending it to avoid "harsh lines". She finishes with the Summer Friday's lip butter balm in vanilla beige. To lock the look in, she uses a setting spray from One Size, which she calls "a hairspray for your face" and describes as "a little intense" but ensures the makeup will not move.

Throughout the routine, Hill shares personal details, revealing she is one of three close-knit sisters who lived in the same room until age 15. She also discussed the launch of her jewelry line, Stone Fruit, co-founded with her sister McKenley, noting her passion for fashion led to a "natural segue" into creating bold pieces that express style, much like makeup does. Hill disclosed that she has ADHD, causing her to get "a little antsy" and impatient during long glam sessions after the first 40 minutes. Her final advice on makeup, like life, is to "do whatever you want guys don't be so serious".
