Married women to report in their husbands’ states – NYSC

Regardless of the states mentioned on their call-up letters, the National Youth Service Corps urged married prospective female Corps members to report for registration at the orientation camps in their husbands' state of residency on Wednesday.

They must also bring their marriage certificates, proof of name change in a national newspaper, and other legitimate marital paperwork that were posted online during their enrollment for duty, according to the organization.

According to a statement from NYSC Deputy Director (Press and Public Relations), Emeka Mgbemena, the Director-General of NYSC, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, gave the command in a nationwide virtual address to the 2022 Batch "A" Stream. "The information is already contained on their call-up letters," two potential corps members said.

He went on to say that the policy was put in place to allow them to have a smooth service year.

General Ibrahim, on the other hand, cautioned that anyone discovered in camp presenting phony documents on marital or health grounds will be turned over to law enforcement for punishment.

The NYSC DG advised prospective corps members to take the oath of allegiance seriously, as it would be binding on them both during and after the service year.
