Let's go to Dakar for the Métiers d'Art 2022/2023 Chanel fashion show by Virginie Viard. Backstage, Naomi Campbell fluctuates between tears and trance. The temporary exhibition at La Galerie du 19M Dakar links the traditional skills of Dakar with those of the 19M Parisian fashion houses. Artists and craftspeople explain the importance of the exchange of a brand like Chanel between Senegal and Paris, and highlight the excellence of handmade products. On the day of the show, the guests discovered the setting: Dakar's Law Courts. Musician Nile Rodgers called himself the happiest man in the world. Pharrell Williams paid tribute to the host city, before his nomination for the men's collections at Louis Vuitton. Designer Sarah Diouf, head of the Tongoro brand, was very proud to welcome Chanel to her city. The show opened with actress Mama Sané. All the meticulous details of the outfits are explained by the craftsmen from the various Chanel art houses: Lesage! Maison Michel! Atelier Montex! Atelier Goossens! Desrues! Paloma! Fashionart! Lemarié! Virginie Viard gets the best out of 19M.
