A pilgrimage that soon shifts into purgatory, after losing his job, Amar embarks on a weekly 24-mile round trip to the closest JobCentre – a journey he takes on foot after the local bus route is cut. Made more gruelling while he comes to terms with his father’s death, he faces the reality that attending the funeral and missing his next appointment will jeopardize his access to support, turning inwards to avoid declaring the news to his younger brother.
