I just got back from a place called Bikaner, in the Rajasthan province of North Western India -- and I found myself at a temple where a man worships 25,000 rats. Not only does he (and all people in his community) live among these rats, but they actually believe that they are the reincarnation of their dead family members. Aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents and cousins - in the form of dirty rats!!
