Gentle Monster and Coperni Chase the Future with 5G-Inspired Collaboration

Gentle Monster has collaborated with Coperni on a futuristic range of sunglasses to create eyewear with a unique twist. The collection, which includes sunglasses with five lines running down the temples, is inspired by 5G technology and new notions about connectivity and speed. This innovative eyewear cooperation is supported with a special Augmented Reality Instagram filter that allows users to visually put on the 5G Bold sunglasses in a blue-colored, high-speed world.

The Gentle Monster x Coperni campaign, shot by Parisian film director Alexandre Silbestein in an urban, avant-garde setting, is a homage to the famed film The Matrix. It offers a freshly inspired trio comprised by singer Le Diouck and models Louise Roberts and Jeanne Zheng bringing viewers inside the technology realms of the two businesses.

The partnership comprises two versions of sunglasses that recall '90s aesthetics from future movies like RoboCop and Back to the Future and were seen on models and celebrities like Zendaya at the SS22 Coperni presentation. The 5G BOLD goggles include voluminous curves, an acetate frame, and an eye-catching Coperni logo on the nose bridge.

The 5G is a simple version on the 5G BOLD, with a cat-eye shape, an acetate frame, and 99.9% UV protected lenses, while keeping the Coperni logo on the nose bridge. All models in this collection contain a virtual set-up box that enables 5G connection with the 5G eyewear, allowing them to meet the demands of a digital-friendly lifestyle.

Beginning today, February 11, the futuristic collection is available globally via Gentle Monster and Coperni's online and offline locations, as well as select global retailers.
