'Fast X' Projected to Hit $319 Million USD Global Box Office Opening

The latest installment of the Fast & Furious franchise Fast X is projected to hit upwards of $67.25 million USD for its domestic box office over the weekend. The action-packed street racing film garnered $28 million USD on Friday across 4,046 theaters and is expected to hit $22.43 million on Saturday and $16.82 million USD on Sunday. The film is on track to knocking off Marvel and Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 starring Chris Pratt, from the top spot.

The film is in its third weekend of release and is set to bring in $267 million USD across North America. With Fast X, the movie is also set to hit $319 million USD at the global box office, putting the tenth film of the saga at No. 7 in terms of the franchise’s highest box office debuts.

Expected to earn more than $60 million USD domestically, the film falls between 2021’s F9: The Fast Saga at $70 million USD and 2019’s Hobbs and Shaw at $60 million USD. Internationally, the film is already slated to have the No. 2 global opening of the year behind Nintendo’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Fast X was directed by Louis Leterrier and stars franchise staples like Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, Helen Mirren, Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Charlize Theron. Jasom Momoa joined the cast as the titular villain. The film is now available in theaters.
