In this video, we’re going on an Omani food tour in Salalah, in the southern Dhofar region of Oman! We’re starting with a traditional celebration food of the Dhofar region, that called Madhbi, where they take an entire goat and grill it fresh on hot rocks. The cooking process is incredible and it’s an ancient desert BBQ method. The meat was so fresh and cooked perfectly with natural smoke embedded into every bite. Many locals also like to eat their meat with a dip of sweet local honey for a sweet touch. We’ll continue this Arabian food tour with camels, which are the lifeline in this region of Oman. We’ll learn to milk camels, very unique, and then drink camel milk as fresh as it gets! Next, we’ll try Dhofari bread, another old tradition, baked in below-ground overs. It’s crispy and slightly sweet, and incredibly tasty. Finally, to complete our Omani food tour today we’re eating late-night street food, and this time not only the amazing camel mishkak of Salalah, but also - you guessed it - a camel burger!
