BRITISH ACTRESS THANDIWE NEWTON CRIES HALF-WHITE TEARS

Thandiwe, previously Thandie, projected her fears about her Blackness onto Black American women when promoting her current film God's Country and then went full Karen during an interview with the Associated Press.

"My internalized prejudice was preventing me from feeling like I could play this character," she explained, "but it's precisely that prejudice that I've experienced." It makes no difference that it comes from African American ladies more than anyone else. I was subjected to discrimination. Anyone who has experienced injustice and bigotry may identify with this character.

'I've wanted to apologize to darker-skinned actors every day,' she said. 'To say, 'I'm sorry I was picked.'"

Thandiwe then burst into tears when describing her dark-skinned Zimbabwean mother, Nyesha Newton, stating, "My mom looks like you." It's been excruciatingly distressing to have ladies who resemble my mother feel as though I'm not representing them. That's what I'm learning from them. Taking their men, their jobs, and their truth."
Thandiwe's spouse, Oi Parker, is, for the record, a white man. They've been together since 1998.
