Pogba’s brother accuses Man United of ‘false promises’

Mathias Pogba, Paul Pogba's brother, has alleged that he was behind the midfielder's return to Manchester United, and that the club offered "false promises" in order to persuade him to sign.

When his contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the season, the France international is expected to leave.

Several clubs have been connected with the 29-year-old, including Juventus and PSG, with a transfer to La Liga possibly being considered due to interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Since his return to United in 2016, Pogba has been brutally chastised from all sides, but Mathias has revealed that the club may have to take some of the blame for the deal because they failed to deliver on their promises.

"I was able to persuade him completely. And look at the player he's developed into. They were making him false promises in Manchester."

Mathias didn't elaborate on his "false promises" assertion, but it's safe to assume the former Wrexham midfielder doesn't believe United misled to his brother.

"The role of a big brother, pretty simply: no more, no less," Mathias replied when asked how influential he is with Paul. I'll give advice until the day I die."

Despite the fact that Pogba has only played 16 times for United this season, the club will undoubtedly need to replace the former Juventus star in the summer.
