Peso Pluma Spends Over $33,000 Sneaker Shopping

The artist Peso Pluma returned for a second round of sneaker shopping with Complex, live from Complex Con in Las Vegas, where he reaffirmed his status as a dedicated collector by spending $32,650 on 15 total pairs of sneakers. The purchase further cemented his reputation as a serious sneakerhead and designer, arriving in Las Vegas fresh from Miami wearing Superstars, noting his casual, comfortable look was simply the result of "just open the bags whatever I see that's what I'm going to wear".

During the spree, Peso Pluma reflected on the significance of his recent concert at the United Center in Chicago, an "incredible experience" and a "very special moment" for his entire group, as he homage Michael Jordan. Jordan "means a lot" to him, and being in the same locker room as the NBA legend and being introduced to the Chicago players was a "crazy moment". He grew up admiring Jordans, with the Jordan 4 being his favorite, calling it the Jordan with the "most aura". The artist is also sentimental about his Louis Vuitton mids, a classic pair he purchased during his first sneaker shopping episode with Complex. He saves them for special occasions, such as the concert in Chicago, because buying them with the Complex team made them a "special one".

Peso Pluma also shared his appreciation for the underrated Adidas Samba, a shoe he loves because he used to play indoor soccer with them. The shoe has a special story for him because his girlfriend, who was a "trend setter in Mexico for the sandbas," put him onto them. He noted the shoe’s transformation from an indoor soccer staple to a popular fashion item seen on the streets everywhere, including in Soho.

His taste for the unique was on display when he was shown a rare Jordan sample, the black Matador Jordan 3, which was inspired by Luch Libre masks and Mexican heritage and has "never been seen" or released. Peso Pluma reacted enthusiastically, stating, "if it's weirder I like it more," finding the shoe "really weird" and "different from all the Jordans" he had seen. He hinted that the Luch Libre theme aligns with his upcoming creative ventures, confirming he is "designing a lot" and has "some surprises for my people with the with the lucha liver shit".

While browsing, Peso Pluma pointed out several favorite collaborations, including the Cactus Plant Dunks, Union Dunks, and the Levi’s 95s. He insisted on acquiring the Virgil Abloh Off-White Chicago Cortez, declaring the purchase "mandatory". Ultimately, the haul consisted of 15 pairs for a total cost of $32,650.

The artist’s band members, who were present, confirmed they were still wearing shoes from the first "crazy" $30,000+ shopping spree they did in New York, confirming they kept all the shoes from that initial purchase. The Complex host also gifted Peso Pluma the 95,000 Complex Con drops—a "crazy shoe" in his size—and the brand-new Undefeated Air Max 95s, noting the artist’s collaboration with Undefeated on a jacket last year. Before his performance, Peso Pluma expressed his excitement and pride in being the "first Mexican to ever perform to this complex".
