Napoli overpriced Osimhen – Italian media

NIGERIA international Victor Osimhen is being overcharged by Napoli, according to Italian publication Corriere della Sera, as part of the Italian club's plan to ward off suitors.

Following his record €81 million move from Lille in the summer of 2020, Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli. He has just spent two seasons with the Parthenopeans.

Manchester United and Newcastle United are thought to be leading the race to sign the striker next summer, with Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Arsenal also apparently interested.

To deter clubs from grabbing their most expensive player, De Laurentiis slapped a €100 million price tag on the Nigerian, €20 million higher than the previous record from France two years ago.

According to Corriere della Sera, Napoli has overcharged Osimhen.

"His valuation is €60m and has been unchanged since he was taken over from Lille two years ago," the report claimed. "However, there are others from England who go farther to ensure De Laurentiis raises to €100."
