Louis Vuitton Pre-Spring 2023 Explores Coming of Age

Louis Vuitton has unveiled its new Pre-Spring 2023 menswear collection that channels the creative vision of the late Virgil Abloh. Thematically conceived by Abloh before his passing, the new Louis Vuitton creative team brought to life his vision of exploring boyhood through music.
By looking at ones musical journey, the new collection explores the mirrored evolution of wardrobe and how it dances with elements of past, present and future. Captured at the Centre National de la Danse in Paris, the new collection is organized into two chapters.
Titled The Concert Goer, the first chapter features is comprised of oversized silhouettes meant to evolve through time. Specifically, thrift store-inspired notes come to play across suiting with workwear design notes like cargo pants, in addition to a leather jacket with a faded effect. Also included in the first segment is a contemporary shirt and skirt workwear suit in deep green with a psychedelic Louis Vuitton font, a bomber jacket and a transparent windbreaker. What makes pieces in this chapter stand out are Ablohs tie-dye technique, butterfly motifs, vividly colored fur gilets and multicolored monogram.
The second chapter of the collection, which is titled The Music Student, pieces together a coming of age silhouette that is comprised of traditional suiting that has been elevated with new details. Taking the archetypal piece to new heights is layered detailing, LVs Damier pattern and eye-catching supplemental garments. The garments include a monogram black leather puffer jacket, a fleece and tech jacquard puffer jacket with enlarged houndstooth print and football scarves.
Additional highlights from the second chapter feature a velvet bomber jacket with LV logos, shiny reversible puffer jackets, t-shirts and more. Finishing off the collection is a line of bags washed in Louis Vuitton graffiti that nods to the Virgil Abloh tribute wall outside of his Rue du Pont Neuf studio
