Jose Mourinho, the manager of Roma, has been given a two-match touchline ban after being sent off during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Verona.
Mourinho stormed onto the field to fight with referee Luca Pairetto before kicking the ball into the stands.
Mourinho "made significant claims" against Pairetto, according to the Italian Football Federation, and stormed the pitch "with a threatening manner."
In addition, the Portuguese manager was fined 20,000 Euros (£16,670).
Mourinho made a phone call to Pairetto, which Italian media believed was in reference to his father Pierluigi, who was engaged in the 2006 Italian match-fixing affair.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham manager then exited the Stadio Olimpico without pausing for post-match press conferences.
He will not be in the dugout for the trip to Spezia on Sunday or the home fixture against Atalanta on March 5.
Edoardo Bove scored a late equalizer as Roma rallied from a two-goal deficit to salvage a point.
The result puts Mourinho's side in eighth place in Serie A, six points out of the Champions League places.
