When IWC released their latest iteration of the Gerald Genta-designed Ingenieur back in March at Watches & Wonders, I was legitimately excited. Finally, a modern take on a watch from a legendary designer that created such icons as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus that's somehow within my budget. I no longer needed to drool over the nearly impossible to get, let alone afford, Royal Oak Jumbo – and while I don't have the same level of admiration for the Nautilus, I still quite enjoy the look and would gladly get one if I could.
