Instagram will now let you add music to photo carousels

Is a photo still a photo when you add music to it? It's hard to say. Instagram today said it will allow users to add music to their photo carousels to showcase their musical tastes. The company is connected with the pop star Olivia Rodrigo, who presented the plan on her account with a photo carousel and her new single "Bad Idea, Isn't It?"The new feature follows another music-related offering in June when the social network launched a way to let people share snippets of music they're listening to via Instagram Notes. Instagram also provides a way for many people to collaborate on a post or reel. The company said users can nominate up to three friends as co-authors. He added that sharing or circulating with multiple collaborators will reach everyone in their audience. The social network first launched the "Collabs" feature in 2021 after a small global test. In addition, the social network has updated the "Add your own" sticker scheme that was launched in 2021 and now encourages users to participate in challenges or hashtags.

With this, manufacturers can make some of their fan covers stand out. Other users will be able to see these reels - highlighted with the "Creator's Choice" icon - when they click on the creator's "Add Your Own" sticker. Users will also see text at the top of the "Add Your Own" page that reads: "Create an app with this app for a chance to be selected as a Creator's Choice."Producers can choose up to 10 reels associated with the specified sticker, the company said. Users who have voted for their status will also receive a status. Meta has tried different things to get people to interact with Reels many times. Reels hit 200 billion games a day and earns $10 billion in revenue, Mark Zuckerberg said last month during the company's second-quarter earnings call in 2023. The company is also trying to change the consumption of advertising on Instagram. Last year, social networks began to focus on video. In June, he said that "video clips are now distributed as reels." After the response from users such as Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, in the Reel video, Instagram manager Adam Mosseri said, "We will continue to support photos. It is part of our heritage. »However, Instagram has long distanced itself from its "photo sharing app" image. The latest move to add music to photos is another way companies are experimenting with multimedia posts.

With this, creators can highlight some of the Reels from their fans. Other users will be able to see those Reels — highlighted with a “Creator pick” tag — when they tap on the creator’s “Add Yours” stickers. Users will also see a text on top of the “Add Yours” page that reads: “Create a Reel with this prompt for a chance to be chosen as a creator pick.”
