Emmanuel Mayowa Fatokun, popularly called Beats by Mayor and also known as Funwonje, is a Nigerian music producer, artiste, and songwriter. He is a graduate of biochemistry from the University of Lagos.
Beats by Mayor has written and produced many songs including "Overkaku" from the "Too Turnt To Text Back" EP. In an interview with Uphorial Media, the music producer revealed what inspired him to do music and he traced it back to his secondary school days. He said he enjoys drumming then and he had a friend who raps to it noting that his love for music started there.
Describing his music as eccentric, the artiste revealed that he got inspiration for most of his songs in the shower. The highest point of his performance career according to him was when he performed in the club and Davido was present and gave him a handshake.
Speaking about his personality he confessed he has trust issues and said he is working on it to become a better person. The musicians he admires are Sunny Ade, Davido , Wizkid, Burnaboy, Drake, and Future.
